***SCHEDULE CHANGE 2-4-17***

We will be moving our Excelsior/Lake Minnetonka race back to Center City this week due to ice conditions access and parking. I have spoken with the Chisago County Sheriff dept, and they are willing to have us back this week so we can race. I will update the site as soon as I know track location and parking.

Center City Race 1/28/17

We are a go for racing Saturday!!! The track looks awesome! I spoke with the Sheriff again today. He will not be allowing parking on the ice due to the integrity of the ice early in the week. He is allowing us a scoring, tech, and registration trailer on the ice. We will need to park the rest of the vehicles and trailers in the access on Hwy 8. The access is very large, but in the event of spillover we have permission to park at the school directly to the west. Historically racing out of this access that was not needed as there is plenty of room. We need to make sure as always we are not blocking access for fisherman etc to get on the lake. There will be a deputy attending our event. With that said and offsite parking, please make sure that anyone with atv’s/utv’s is abiding by Mn state laws according to operations of these machines especially youth regulations regarding helmets, certification, age, and seat belts. I want to make sure that we are setting a good example to continue to race in such great venues like Center City. Just a reminder registration closes tonight also. We will be holding our awards banquet just east of the access on highway 8 at the Pizza Pub. Below is the address and a link to the boat access. It is located just east of the school on the north side of highway 8 as you are entering Center City from the West. Also there will be a $10 ice shaving fee charged at registration for each racing members. Visitors will not be charged this fee.

As of yesterday the sheriff is not allowing parking on the ice. I will keep you up to date before Saturday on if we will be able to or not. As of right now plan on parking on shore. Update Center City Race

1/23/17 Update Center City Race

As of this morning between talks with both the Sheriff and the chamber of commerce, the Celebration of the Lakes is still tentatively going on. The Drag races have been cancelled due to ice conditions. We will be moving our race in front of the boat access at this time. We have plans for ice checks and removing slush and water mid week in an attempt to make this race work. I wont be able to answer if we will be able to park on the ice until later in the week as we monitor the ice and its conditions with the Sheriff and our dedicated track directors. I will update up to the minute as I know. I am optimistic we will be racing this weekend if we can make the surface ice cooperate with us!!!!

As of this weekend there was 16″ of ice on the lake. I will be talking with the Sheriff early this week and monitoring ice conditions. Racing looks probable at this point for next Saturday. I will keep you posted.

UPDATE: Big McKenzie Lake Spooner 1/14/17 Race

We plowed and set up the track today. There is about a foot of snow cover on the lake with 11″-12″ of smooth good ice. We will not be parking on the Ice again this week. Please be patient in the morning as parking in the lots is pretty tight, and we will need to direct everyone upon arrival. There is only one spot to get one trailer near the ice, please leave this open as we will be parking the tech trailer there so we can stage snowmobiles in front of it. There is parking to both the south and north of the bar we will be using. The good news is it looks like a high around 20 degrees with light variable winds at this time for Saturdays race!!! This will feel good after last weekend!!!!! The banquet will be held right at McKenzie Landing. Please take time if you run into George the owner of Mckenzie landing! He does a lot to all of the leg work for this race and it is a treat to go there!!
