With the season at the midway point, here are some important dates to remember:

• NORTHERN NATIONALS is February 14-15 – Registration closes February 6th at NOON

• WHITE BEAR LAKE – We are taking the group photo / Please have your kids bib on and helmets off for the drivers meeting, as the picture will be right after it.

• CLOTHING – Order forms are due February 7th. Please turn in to Amy Beltrand

• MAKE UP RACE – In Garisson March 1st. This will be a double header weekend. It will be scored as 2 different races

What a great race day at the Celebration of the Lakes!! The weather was great and so was the action! We had many first time winners which always makes it exciting.

A few things that we need to do throughout the day to keep it moving, so we finish before sunset:

• More help with signs and fences in the morning, please help out putting them up
• Please be staged and ready for your heats/classes

In a effort to make up one on the two cancelled races, we will be making up race. The race is scheduled for Sunday (3-1-15) in Garrison, MN.

More info to come on where the awards banquet will be.

Even though this is a going to be a double header in Garrison, these will be 2 separate races.

Registration for Northern Nationals is open and available. Registration deadline for Northern Nationals is Friday, February 6 at noon.  No registrations will be accepted after this date/time. There is a page specific to Northern Nationals set up on the KC PRO East website (http://www.kcproeast.com/northernnationals.html).  It includes race registrations and registrations for our meal on Sunday at the Elks Club in Virginia.  ALL Registrations/payments MUST BE received no later than NOON on Friday February 6.

We got the official word from the Sheriff today that we are a go for Saturday. We will be parking on the ice as they reported 19″ of ice. Please remember to fill out the track help sheet when you register, as we will not start racing till that is filled out. Also the fencing and signs need to be in place before any hotlaps can start, so please help out.

Track shaving fee will be $10 Per Racer.

This is only a Saturday race this weekend. The makeup race is being worked on as we speak, potentially being set for Sunday February 8th.

North Center Lake:

As you enter the lake, go North and head around the island. Stay to the right as we need to park on the West side of the track up by shore. I will be parked by the bridge on the South side of the track. Please stay to the right of my trailer as the CLACC has asked us to leave the East side open for viewing. Also we need to leave room between the board members trailers for the Tech area.

Before the Hwy 8 split take a Left on Olinda, a Right on Newell, and a Right on Vine Street

Parking is available in the lower lot for cars, and small truck and trailers. You can access this lot by staying on Hwy 8 till the Hwy 14 crossroad, where you can turn around and head back East on Hwy 8. The parking lot will be on the the right.

Depending upon how busy it is parking on the streets is available as well.

Due to the conditions getting onto the ice and the amount of water in the area from the landing to the race spot the race will be cancelled.

A make up race will be rescheduled (a Sunday race) as soon as possible for one of the two cancelled races. Potentially for Sunday February 1st at the earliest.

I do apologize for the late notice on this, but due to the ice conditions rapidly deteriorating over the last 12 hours this was the best decision for the safety of our kids, family, and visitors.

Series Tracker will refund this race.

KC PRO EAST has opened the registration for us for anyone interested in going to Pike Lake to race. Please E-Mail Shannon Sweeney @ ssween27@gmail.com with your kids bib # and classes you will be racing. Checkout the KC PRO EAST website http://www.kcproeast.com/mainpage.html for race day details.

As of now (5:00 PM) the race is in jeapordy. A frost heave let loose today and is creating a wet/slushy area where the track and walkway would be located. A track move location will be needed which creates other challenges.

The ice is between 12-14” and is very smooth under the snow cover. Our plan is to leave the track to be plowed until Friday to protect the ice during warm temps. There is a chance of  rain on Friday and we will monitor that. If need be, we will plow the track early Saturday if the rain looks potentially threatening on Friday to the track.

Chances of parking on the ice look low. There is plenty of parking at the access, and Mark has lined up four wheelers and snowmobile trailers to ferry sleds out on to the ice if need be. Please keep an eye on the website for updates. We will be checking the ice again tomorrow. We plan on plowing the track right next to the access if parking is not an option.

With the temps and windshield still holding in the negatives we will be delaying the start by one hour. The times below is what we are going to use for Saturday (one hour after our normal times).

Hot Laps: Around 9:30

Drivers Meeting: Around 10:30

Racing Starts: By 11:00

Please let others know of the schedule change. With starting later for the safety of the kids, we may have to adjust the days schedule as we go so please be prepared for that.

Tracey will be there early as well to clean up the parking lot and track of the blowing/drifting snow, so if you arrive early please allow him room to clean up the area.
