Eagle River World Championships

Racing Families,

On behalf of the Wisconsin Kids Snowmobile Racing Association (WKSRA), we want to welcome you to the 2017 World Championships in Eagle River, WI – the 54th Anniversary of the Derby Race!  We are honored and excited to again host this year’s event.

The derby is a great event and venue to have our clubs join together to give our children the opportunity to compete in and promote the sport of kids snowmobile racing at a national level.

The following document highlights the key information for you and your family as you prepare for this weekend.  If any member of our executive committee can help, please feel free to contact any one of us:

2017 World Championships, Eagle River, WI

Date & Time Saturday – January, 21st
Hot laps will be from 8:30-9:30am

Junior classes 9:00-9:45am on big track

Driver’s meeting at 9:45am

Racing starts at 10:00am
Sunday – January, 22nd
Hot laps will be from 8:30-9:30am

Registration:

Early registration is critical in making sure the weekend runs smoothly.  Please register by following the below steps.  Registration steps:

  • Go to www.wksrar.raceday.pro/sign-in
  • Create your Racer with their own free account
  • Log in and register for the event

***Deadline for registration is January 19th***

Entry Fees:

Entry fees for each class will be $18.  Any registration received after January 19th will include a $25 late fee.

 

Cost: Eagle River Derby

This year, all tickets must be purchased at the yellow house by the derby track entrance.  WKSRA will not be selling the passes this year.  A 3-day weekend pass is $65.  A Saturday/Sunday only pass is $45.  Kids 10 and under are free.  When you purchase your tickets at the yellow house, each person in your group must sign the insurance waivers with the Eagle River Derby personnel.

 

Check-In:

Check-in will once again be at the lobby of the Wild Eagle Lodge on Friday, January 20th, between 3-6pm.  It is located at 4443 Chain O’Lakes Rd.  Chain O’Lakes Rd is 2 miles north on Hwy 45, past the derby track.  If you cannot make it during that time, please contact Tenille Rathke (715-432-5619) or Angela Borchardt (715-612-0129) to make other arrangements.  At check-in, insurance waivers will be signed and class entries confirmed.

Trailer Drop Off:

Trailers can be dropped off Thursday night or Friday.  Please stop at the yellow house next to the track before dropping your trailer.  Once you drop off your trailer, your vehicle must be removed and will not be allowed back in until the end of the race weekend.  The Derby Track wants all of our trailers removed before the big race on Sunday afternoon.

Hot Laps:                                             8:30-9:30am prior to race start for ONLY the classes being run that day.  There will be an exception for junior drivers – they will be allowed to hot lap on the small track when they are done racing on the big track.

Flagging:

Flagging rules will be discussed at the driver’s meeting each morning.

Teching:

The top 6 places in each class will be teched on race day.

Trophy Presentation:

The trophy presentation will be held following the last race of the day on Sunday.  This will be held at the Northland Pines School – which is located within walking distance (East) of the track.  Trophies will be awarded to 1st – 6th place in each class.
